[:en]Hey Parents! This is the time of year for you to help your kids. I am not talking about studying new material for the following school year but am asking you to take your kids in for their checkups. Many children with learning problems can be helped with simple eye exams and hearing screenings. Can’t tell you how many times kids came for treatment and most of the problem was poor eyesight. Be sure to check for their close reading ability at the same exam. Hearing tests are important too especially with children who had chronic ear infections or bronchitis over the winter.[:he]

  אל ההורים:  בקדם הגעת ילדכם לבית ספר עשו טובה לילד/ה ועזרו לו/ה.  לא מדברת על ללמוד את כל חומר השנה כדי להקל עליהם אלא לקחת אותם לתור אצל רופא ילדים ורופא עיניים לבדיקה.  הרבה ילדים עם קשיי למידה יכולים להיעזר פשוט מתיקון ראיה או בדיקת אוזניים. אין ביכולתי למנות את מספר הפעמים שקורה שילד שבא אלי לתרפיה מתברר שהבעיה זה השתבש אצלו הראיה.  חשוב לבקש גם שיבדקו את ראיית הקרוב של הילד אם רק בוחנים להסתכלות לרחוק בבדיקת העיניים.  ועוד חשוב לדעת בנושא השמיעה שגם דלקות אוזניים ואף ברונכיטוס שהתרחש אצל ילד בחורף ישפיע על תקינות השמיעה של ילדכם.
