[:en]A mother calls. ‘My baby won’t nurse. He doesn’t suck the bottle either. I can’t soothe him. The babies head is stuck in one position. He’s always ridged.’ This is the baby who will come into the cranial sacral treatment mimicking Autism Syndrome Disorder like symptoms. The session won’t be an easy one. In the end though the baby will often leave with ability to nurse, suck, free moving, feeling baby pliant and soft, and happy. For the first year he will return for one or two follow up sessions. Quite often this newborn will have an older sibling who is labeled as “troubled” or has been diagnosed within Autism Syndrome Disorder spectrum.
Is every distressed baby mimicking ASD symptoms? No. Have there been more and more distressed babies mimicking ASD like symptoms? Yes. Why, is the question I have yet to answer. I have speculations but no concrete answers.[:he]

האם כל תינוק שנמצא תכונות אלו מחכים אוטיזם? לא. האם יש בימינו עליה במספר ילדים שמתקשים בדרך זו? כן. ה “למה?” למצב הזה עוד לא מצאתי תשובה אבל יש לי התבלטים שמביאים אותי לכיוון לפיתוח של פתרון לנושא.
