Moving in Rhythm

Syncopated rhythm is when everyone moves at the same time, but each one still has an individual rhythm. The body also has rhythm: the heart, the breath, the nervous system, and the subtle movement that CranioSacral therapists learn to listen for.

The body is wrapped in fascia, a clear, fibrous tissue beneath the skin and around the structures within us. Fascia allows movement: the heart beating, blood moving, muscles flexing, and the head turning.

In CranioSacral work, that rhythm is approached gently. The work is not about forcing the body into change. It is about listening for where the body has room to soften and where it may be ready to move more freely.
